About the Doctors




Dr. Richard Mayfield

Dr. Mayfield is a chiropractic doctor, clinical nutritionist, functional medicine specialist and a certified acupuncturist.  He is a director of the Center for Well Being.   He received his doctorate in chiropractic (DC) from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 1981. He is a certified BioCranial doctor, BioCranial Institute.  He holds two national board certifications in nutrition from the American Board of Clinical Nutrition, and the American Clinical Board of Nutrition as a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) and Diplomate of Nutrition (DACBN).

Dr. Mayfield is a Faculty Staff doctor at the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).  The IFM is the preeminent medical educational organization that trains physicians (MD, DC, DO, ND) from all over the world in science-based diagnostic and treatment methods utilizing functional medicine.  He has completed the only advanced physician training program in functional medicine, Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice, Institute for Functional Medicine.  He is currently qualifying for an advanced national board certification (IFM) in functional medicine.   

Dr. Mayfield has been lecturing to physicians since 1984 in clinical nutritional sciences, and has authored a doctor's manual, Metabolic Purification of Toxic Metals and Chemicals. 

He is a fellow with the International & American Association of Medical Acupuncture (FIAMA).  He has studied Chinese medicine procedures in China (1994, 1996) and is a certified medical qigong instructor from the Bagua Xundao Gong Institute, Beijing, China.

Dr. Peggy Frank

Dr. Frank is a chiropractic doctor, clinical nutritionist, functional medicine specialist and a certified acupuncturist.    She received her doctorate in chiropractic (DC) from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 1987.  She holds two national board certifications in nutrition from the American Board of Clinical Nutrition, and the American Clinical Board of Nutrition as a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) and Diplomate of Nutrition (DACBN).
